Position Summary:

The Global TAS Communications and Engagement team needs a budding writer to tell fun, impactful stories that engage a diverse, global audience.
Join our fun team and you’ll spend a lot of time laughing while designing, developing and deploying insightful and engaging material to the TAS practice. Channels include the EY Home Page Daily News Alert (internal news platform), Discover sites (intranet) and other digital channels, email communications, video, webcast, podcast and event communications.
This role will progress to owning and driving the Global TAS Daily News Alert channel. This means you’ll need to develop a strong network of contacts throughout the business and dig out potential news stories and tell them as conversational, digestible and impactful stories that inspire action. You’ll have your finger on the pulse and be the go-to person for finding out top news in TAS. Don’t worry about understanding our complex business upfront, just bring your sense of humour, a passion for writing and delivering compelling stories and we’ll show you the rest. ‘TAS’ is short for Transactions Advisory Services (we use a lot of acronyms), one of four Service Lines in EY. TAS includes about 18,000 people worldwide helping businesses with their capital agendas, which often means advising on mergers, acquisitions, divestments, a lot of corporate finance stuff. But, as we said earlier, don’t stress if none of this makes sense right now, we’ll support you in learning about our business.

The bulk of the team sit in the London Bridge office, but you will work collaboratively with TAS and BMC (Brand Marketing and Communications) teams all around the world.


Key responsibilities of the job:

The Communications and Engagement (CE) Supervising Associate, Global TAS will:
  • Provide strong support to the Global TAS Internal Communications Leader and other team members
  • Work collaboratively across the team, proactively managing channels and deploying communications in an accurate and timely manner
  • Work with a range of stakeholders on key project issues, providing valuable insights and communications updates
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders and maintain good working relationships across BMC and other functions; l everage this network to seek out and identify global news content to execute a regular schedule of global news stories
  • Conduct interviews with relevant colleagues to source information and draft said information into compelling stories
  • Source images, videos and other related material to support written content, considering layout and visual impact of the story
  • Update content on intranet sites and other comms channels
  • Effectively manage multiple projects, balancing these with business-as-usual responsibilities
  • Monitor and analyze the effectiveness of communications channels, make changes as needed to improve engagement, and provide regular updates and recommendations to Global TAS CE team
  • Explore the innovative use of technology to achieve communications goals and share ideas
  • Maintain up-to-date industry knowledge on brand, marketing and communications trends and challenges
  • Provide communications support to leaders on marquee external branding, marketing and communications as necessary
  • Other special projects and events as required

Skills and attributes for success:

  • Demonstrate strong copywriting, proofreading and editing skills. Ability to bring creativity, personality and flair to written communications is key
  • Effectively use content management systems for digital channels considering design impact of how content is displayed
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and a genuine commitment to maintaining the highest standards in CE content and channels
  • Be able to prioritize own workload and proactively manage stakeholder expectations; effectively balance multiple priorities, projects and business-as-usual tasks
  • Be a team player with a flexible can-do attitude and good interpersonal skills; demonstrate commitment to meeting deadlines and supporting colleagues
  • Be able to work under own initiative with minimal supervision and direction
  • Demonstrate a good understanding of communications and engagement principles and practice; seek to develop knowledge through new experiences and projects; actively seek out and participate in opportunities to learn





Ideally, you’ll also have

  • The ability to turn complex information into straightforward, meaningful stories
  • A passion for story telling via diverse digital channels such as blogs, videos, article etc.
  • Experience using content management systems and designing creative layouts to display news stories
  • The ability to influence and build collaborative relationships with the people you work with
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Knowledge of office software, such as SharePoint, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Yammer etc.
